Community rules

Drop is a closed messaging space. The following rules keep it usable for everyone.

Not allowed

Harassment and bullying. Insults aimed at a person, humiliation, persistent unwanted contact.

Hate speech. Demeaning statements based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.

Violence and threats. Threatening to harm someone, calling for violence, encouraging self-harm.

Sexual content. Pornographic images and text. Any material involving child abuse is removed immediately and reported to the authorities.

Impersonation. Pretending to be someone else.

Spam. Bulk advertising, scam attempts, sharing malicious links.

Illegal content. Selling drugs, sharing stolen data, copyright infringement.

How to report

To report a message, long press it and choose "Report message".

To report a user, open the chat and choose "Report" from the menu in the top right.

To block someone, use "Block" in the same menu. A blocked person cannot message you. You can undo it under Settings › Blocked people.

Reports are reviewed by an administrator and acted on within 24 hours.

What happens when rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, one of the following applies:

  1. The content is removed
  2. The account is temporarily suspended
  3. The account is permanently deleted

If your account is suspended you will see the reason in the app. To appeal, write to [email protected].

Automated filter

A word filter runs on the server. Messages containing severe terms are never delivered, and suspicious ones are queued for moderator review.

Privacy reminder

This app does not use end to end encryption. Your messages are stored unencrypted on the server and can be viewed by platform administrators.
